PARAPET COMPLETED THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 2.5 MW PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANT FOR ANTIBIOTICE IAȘI, A PROJECT FINANCED BY PNRR

• The photovoltaic power plant built by Parapet will generate, on average, 3,500 MWh / year and will cover over a quarter of the electricity needs of the pharmaceutical company.
• The project is partially financed by Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the category of projects over 1 MW.

Cluj-Napoca, 28.03.2024 – Parapet, a construction company in the renewable sector, installed a 2.5 MW photovoltaic power plant for the Romanian pharmaceutical company Antibiotice Iași. The investment amounted to approximately RON 11.8 million (equivalent to over EUR 2.3 million), partially covered by PNRR funds.

The photovoltaic power plant will produce, on average, 3,500 MWh/year, reducing the carbon footprint by over 2,000 tons annually. The construction works were completed in November 2023, followed by compliance tests carried out by an ANRE authorized operator together with the electricity distribution company in the area. The power plant currently holds all the necessary certifications for safe electricity production.

“We are glad to see more and more local companies, from various economic sectors, involved in streamlining electricity production and consumption and, equally, concerned about the sustainable development of their activity. We focus on everyone’s need and come up with customized, turnkey solutions to support the companies to meet their objective, namely to ensure as much as possible of their electricity needs from their own, renewable generation capacities. The photovoltaic plant installed for Antibiotice Iași is a reference project in this regard, we are glad to be part of the sustainability solutions adopted by the company”, said Andrada Moldovan, CEO Parapet.

The photovoltaic plant project involved the implementation of Parapet solutions for design, mechanical, electrical and management infrastructure. On an area of approximately 3.5 hectares, a system comprising 4,680 photovoltaic panels with monocrystalline technology was installed on a fixed structure.

“Reducing the carbon footprint, given the EU’s perspective of reaching climate neutrality in the horizon of 2050, is a strategic concern for Antibiotice. We have built an energy efficiency strategy on our platform to ensure a certain degree of energy autonomy in industrial processes, and this investment is an important step in this direction. Out of the total annual energy consumed, we will provide over a quarter from renewable sources and this aspect will significantly contribute to the decarbonization process”, said Ioan Nani, General Manager of Antibiotice.

Parapet’s portfolio includes over 250 installed mixed or photovoltaic power plants, turnkey projects or in different stages of the works, with a total installed capacity exceeding 1 GWp. The photovoltaic power plants built by Parapet produce, in total, an average of approximately 1,200 GWh / year, avoiding annual CO2 emissions of approximately 1,000,000 tons.

PARAPET is a Romanian construction company in the renewable energy and road safety sectors, with offices in Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest and Nuremberg. It has a rich portfolio of photovoltaic parks and mixed photovoltaic – wind – storage power plants, built “turnkey” or in different stages, in 15 countries in Europe. The company offers EPC and BoS solutions and services and owns one of the largest fleets of machines and equipment in the country, adapted to the two sectors in which it operates. The organizational structure of Parapet includes internal departments dedicated to each stage of construction of a photovoltaic or hybrid park.
