My name is Iulia Velea, I’m a civil engineer and quality manager within the Parapet.
At the break of dawn, on a photovoltaic construction site in Romania, you’ll see Iulia wearing her safety helmet and holding measuring instruments in her hands.
As a quality manager, she connects all the departments involved in building a solar power plant: from design and execution to collaboration with suppliers and beneficiaries.
“In the Quality Department, this is what we focus on – ensuring full traceability of the works: from the supply of materials to their installation and, ultimately, the final acceptance of the work. Rigor is one of the key strengths of the Quality Department, which is why we have to plan every operation with great attention.”
She spends half of her time on-site and the other half in the office, preparing the required documentation.
“What I like most is being on-site, because from an execution perspective, you see things a bit differently. We have a sample of several structures to check each day, and after the inspections, we prepare a report. The report is then sent to our colleagues in the execution team, who start the corrections if needed. And if everything goes great and smoothly, then the execution team is happy.”
